In 2010, at the age of 41, I suddenly discovered songwriting. Driven by a sense of urgency and excitement, my first album was released 16 months after I got my first electric guitar. Shiny Suburban Day, which was the first song I ever recorded, remains a fan favorite. Matt Jefferson recorded and produced the album. I made a professional music video with Portland film maker, David Craig, which was partly filmed at Occupy Portland. I also made several amateur ski music videos with footage filmed while backcountry and heli skiing in British Columbia.
